Elevation: 650 m
Torre, at 650 meters above sea level, stands in a privileged position overlooking the valley and offering a wide and striking view of the surrounding mountains, including majestic Resegone. The landscape, shaped by green slopes and lush woods, tells a very ancient story, making this place not only beautiful to observe, but also rich in meaning.
Reaching Torre means following high-altitude paths that connect ancient historic hamlets such as Nesolio and Costalottiere. The route winds through nature and history, offering panoramic views and an immersive experience in the mountain landscape. It is an ideal itinerary for those who want to discover the area slowly, letting themselves be guided by the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.
Torre's elevated position is tied to the geological history of the area: once, the valley floor was probably occupied by an ancient lake fed by streams descending from Resegone. For this reason, the first hamlets, such as Nesolio, Costalottiere, and Torre, arose at higher altitude. Over time, the waters opened a passage toward the south, draining the lake and making the valley floor habitable, where the present-day village of Erve was later established.
