Elevation: 650 m
Corno, at 650 meters above sea level, takes its name from the characteristic rock formations emerging from the landscape, creating a striking and charming setting. Surrounded by greenery and woods, it offers authentic natural views and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for those seeking direct contact with nature and the spirituality of the place.
Corno can be reached by an ancient mule track, once the only connection to Rossino and Calolzio. The route crosses woods and natural settings, accompanying visitors to the small chapel of the Madonna del Corno. Along the way, you also encounter the little Acqua Nigra stream, so named for the dark color of its riverbed, which makes the landscape even more distinctive.
The name "Corno" comes from the local dialect and refers to a rocky outcrop with a characteristic shape. Here stands the chapel of the Madonna del Corno, dedicated to the Virgin Mary Assumed into Heaven. In 1944, during the war, the community of Erve made a vow to the Madonna: every year, at the end of May, they would celebrate with a procession to the chapel, asking for protection from destruction and violence. Even today, this place preserves a strong historical and religious value, also testified by the fresco created in 1981.
